“Human relationships” is the phrase E Zhang often uses when she explains the core of her art practice.  Her works capture and create surreal, playful, and ridiculous moments of modern social life. The interest in that leads her to develop her practice of creating the interaction between humans and other humans.  Photography, video, and installation are her methods of observing, questioning, and summarizing.  

E graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2016. As a London based Chinese artist,  she was part of the 2016 Hackney Wicked show, 2015 Altered Stated exhibition in the Camden Arts Centre, and several exhibitions in the UK and China.

“My personal understanding of human relationships.” is her well known interactive installation. “This is Arena.” is her long-term documentary photography project that focuses on warehouse living in London.

When she talks about her own art, it always ends up with this sentence:

“What are human relationships?”
